About Robyn

Acclaimed for her rich tone, expressive phrasing, and vocal versatility, British soprano Robyn Pullen is forging a vibrant career on both the concert and operatic stage.

She holds a Master of Music in Vocal Performance at the Royal Northern College of Music (RNCM), where she studied with the late bass-baritone Matthew Best, and Soprano Linda Richardson, following undergraduate studies at Cardiff University with French vocal coach, Pierre-Maurice Barlier. She has also benefited from tuition and masterclasses with leading artists including Lisette Oropesa, Amanda Roocroft, David Owen Norris, Dearbhla Collins, and Elizabeth Rowe.

As a concert soloist, Robyn is in increasing demand across the UK, working with distinguished choirs and orchestras such as the Academy Choir & Academy Baroque Players, Salford Choral Society & the Baroque in the North Orchestra, Chesterfield Philharmonic Choir & Derbyshire Sinfonia, The Stour Singers and Pershore Choral Society & the Corelli Orchestra. She has appeared under the baton of conductors including Malcolm Pearce, Tom Newall, Roger Hamilton, and Mark Jordan, and has had the privilege of sharing the concert stage with renowned performers including Roderick Williams OBE, Rowan Pierce and Bethan Langford. Her wide-ranging repertoire includes major oratorios and masses such as Brahms’ Ein deutsches Requiem, Haydn’s Nelson Mass and Creation, Mozart’s Requiem and Coronation Mass, Fauré’s Requiem, and Martines’ Dixit Dominus. Recent highlights include Handel’s Israel in Egypt (Wimbledon International Music Festival), Bach’s St John Passion, and Haydn’s Little Organ Mass.

On the operatic stage, Robyn’s engagements include Blanche de la Force Dialogues of the Carmelites(Aylesbury Opera), Mrs Sem Noye’s Fludde (Orchestra of the Swan), Susannah Susannah (Cardiff University Operatic Society), Carmen Carmen (Cardiff University Operatic Society), and Chorus Le Nozze di Figaro(RNCM). In the 2025 season, she joins the Longborough Festival Opera Ensemble for the UK premiere of Avner Dorman’s Wahnfried: The Birth of the Wagner Cult, conducted by Justin Brown and directed by Polly Graham. She has also performed extensively in opera scenes, with repertoire ranging from Strauss Ariadne auf Naxos to Rossini La Scala di Seta.

In 2025, Robyn was a finalist in The Chris Treglown Foundation Awards, adjudicated by Anna Patalong, Benedict Nelson, Naomi Harvey and William Pool.

Beyond the stage, she is dedicated to charitable music-making, having organised and performed in fundraising concerts that have raised significant sums for her parish, blending opera with musical theatre to reach new audiences. She is currently planning to expand these initiatives into a local recital tour.

Robyn is deeply grateful for the generous support of the James & Mary Glass Scholarship during her studies at the RNCM.
